A Gift In-Kind is a gift of materials and/or labor that has monetary value to Habitat STW.
Examples of Gifts In-Kind include, but aren’t limited to:

• Someone donates shingles that Habitat STW would have otherwise had to pay cash for
• A plumber donates his/her time to install plumbing
• A donation of land on which to build a home

The donor is responsible for assigning a fair market value to the item(s) for their own tax purposes and will receive a thank you letter acknowledging the donation.

Food Donations
We are fortunate to host many out-of-state college volunteers who choose to give up their winter, spring or summer breaks to come to help us build. These volunteers travel at their own expense, and many of them raise funds for months beforehand in order to cover the costs of their trip as well as to make a donation to support Habitat’s local work.

In return for their generosity, we want our teams to have a true taste of southern cuisine! While words like “gumbo” and “jambalaya” may be unfamiliar when they arrive, we know these will be the dishes they remember most after they return home. So we ask local restaurants, businesses, or individuals to consider donating meals for our volunteers to show appreciation for the hard work they give to our community.
